Ever since he was a child, Gary had wanted to play the decorative yellow stringless mini-cello, but he had to admit he did not take to it as naturally as he had hoped.

A few years back I discovered this delightfully twisted use for my stash of linen and thread .. Subversive Cross Stitch! What fun I had shocking the ladies at my local Embroiderer’s Guild! Perhaps it’s time to revisit the old pattern book and see what beauties I can come up with .. suggestions??

Could these be any cuter? Free colouring in printables from Mariah DeMarco .. now if I could just convince Aiden to draw with the crayon instead of eating it …
Now that Aiden has teeth and is not afraid to use them, I’ve entered the realm of solid (rather than pureed) food! It’s a brave new world, and as one who has always thought of lunch as dinner’s sad cousin I must admit to being a little daunted by how to fill his tummy with nutritious and exciting food. Then along came the Lunch Punch. It arrived within a few days of ordering and has hardly been out of use since! All week we’ve been scoffing our avocado sandwiches with glee now that they’re shaped like puzzle pieces!

Do I hear an echo out there? This is my first ever blog and what better way to start than with cake! Two of them in fact .. birthday cakes for my cheeky monkey’s first birthday party #1 and first birthday party #2!
The first birthday cake is a chocolate cake in fondant and the second birthday cake is banana cake with cream cheese frosting. Thank you I Am Baker for this wonderful banana cake recipe
